Anyone know where to get a decent 8GB or higher USB drive that can be locked? Not with a software lock, but a USB drive that has a physical slide switch to lock it to prevent a virus from infecting it.

I use a SD card with USB adapter. I lock the SD card whenever I need. If you search in the forum, there's a thread about this topic with link and pictures. ;)

I have an Imation Clip that has that lock switch. It wasn't expensive but then it's not terribly robust either.

You can also prevent viruses on your flahs drive by creating a folder named "autorun.inf"

How does this method work?
As you might already know, viruses often create a file called autorun.inf in your external drive so that it can copy itself upon being inserted into a Windows machine. Windows will automatically run the little script, whether it's an automated installation setup.. or a virus! Therefore, if there's already a folder with that name, a file with the same name cannot be created, effectively disabling the virus to autorun itself.

This is true but this will not protect you from any file infectors, so I wouldn't go trusting this method. I personally use mini USB SD card reader with a 2gb sd card, and just flip the lock switch on the sd card.
