I'm not a Linus fan but I was really surprised at the scope of things. Huge facilities, writers, editors, etc.

I dont watch many of his tech videos, but I loved his behind the scenes stuff. You see these wonderful shiny businesses, the image of success and putting their best foot forward. However, what you dont see was the mistakes that happened before that. The grind, the frustration, things not working first time, and you find that they are just like any other businesse.

Frustrations and roadblocks happen to me, and I can see its not just happening to me. Happens to other businesses too before they reach that nice external polish the the public sees.

The big office move was great, because it goes into setting up the infrastructure they use to run the business: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8mG-RkN2uTwtm6Of52mgPG1OboxDlAlA

The server room Vlog was also excellent: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8mG-RkN2uTwe2V5XMm7mncNGnEqBbfXg

The girl is pretty hot.
Linus does a tour of HER studio too on her channel:
LTT is an epic business with a big warehouse, heaps of employees etc.. but its interesting to see what she achieves with just her and an iMac.

I never watched that video because when I saw Linus' video of her space she struck me as quite illiterate in tech, a little dim all around, and spoiled. Made me feel like her whole channel was going to be just sex appeal and forced geek culture references that she only knows about because it helps her get cash from neckbeards.

Linus on the otherhand clearly knows what he is doing, does a lot of cool IT projects and experiments with actual hard work involved. A lot of his content is pretty over the top, but he has a good mix of crazy and down to earth stuff, and his opinions are very realistic. He also seems like a good guy all around, treats his employees well (he gets them to work hard too, but seems to balance it out).

He also does behind the scene videos with companies we techs are interested in hearing about, like Drive Savers, Louis Rossmann, and DeepSpar. He is a big supporter of Right to Repair, mentions going to repair shops like us, gives Apple **** for being sucky with repair, etc.

His last video even mentioned how those $10 windows licenses are not legit. That's something even our industry people can't get right (*cough* britec *cough*).

Don't know why people here don't like him. My cousin said he doesn't either and says he seems arrogant which I never really saw. He seems to me to be very down to earth, much more so than most tech journalists and enthusiasts.

Edit: He does make stupid thumbnails though. But even that he admits he does grudgingly since he doesn't want to do it. It gets more clicks is all, which he needs to support his company.

There is a lot of knowledge in some of the videos I find. Yesterday was explaining why all the videos it says Windows needs activating. If you have not seen all Scrapyard wars. It fills a few hours.

As go iJustine she deserved a lot of credit one of the first YouTubers. Streamed her whole live for 6 months back in the early backs. I can see the why some would not like her. But she's made a lot of money and a job out of it for years so credit where credit is due.

While I-Justine's videos are nerdy and goofy at times and not as in depth as his videos, she has been on youtube for over 12 years so I'm pretty sure she knows a thing or two about technology.

iJustine is nice to look at it lol. I like her videos on iPhone comparison and some of her vlogs are interesting.

Have a lot of respect for Linus, even though he rambles a lot sometimes his videos are well done and much of his information continues to stay relevant even years later.

Never heard of iJustine until this thread. Of course being pretty helps a lot for someone doing something like that. But I think she has a great screen presence. No idea of her history but I'd guess she's someone who's a natural so to speak. Some people have it and other's don't no matter how hard they try, study, train, etc.

Never really looked a Linus's vid's but he, like many on youtube, rely on theatrics in addition to content for viewership. His does seem much less inflammatory than Louis.

Her content is fairly surface level tech, and thats OK. She's a totally different audience to Linus.
Hers is general tech from a consumer perspective. Features of the device, unboxing etc.. Doesnt go a whole lot deeper than that and most people dont want any deeper. She has great screen presence and does what she does well. So good on her.

I think the "little dim" comment is possibly part of a screen persona. For entertaining video for the general public, you kind of need to turn the excitement up to 11: "OMG YOU GUYS!!"

For us techs though, LTT is far more interesting as a channel.

I find iJustine annoying, as Bryce said its probably just a screen persona. But anyone that blindly loves every single product from a company simply cannot get my vote to be honest.
I don't dislike Apple products, I dislike the fans that harp on about how great they are, when they themselves never try anything else and don't actually know much about tech.

I do like Linus though, if you ever watch any of his channel's videos without him in, they just aren't as interesting, Luke is the other main person on the channel (think he might be co-owner now) and when he does a video on his own I normally switch off.
I can see why people see him as arrogant though, for an example of what they are talking about watch this video where he dragged loius down to "help" fix his broken mac.
He isn't super arrogant but he does like to be "the guy" if you know what I mean.
