Linetek LS-15

So I get into the shop this morning and go through my usual routine of turning everything on, after a minute or so I get that electrical burning smell.
I quickly run around sniffing at the 3 PCs that are starting up, think I've found the smelly one, and ... BANG!

Luckily not a PC but a Linetek LS-15 cloverleaf power cord that was plugged into a wall socket. It was not connected to anything else.

I now have a scorch mark on my workbench and a sense of relief that I always turn the power off before leaving for home in the evening.

The female connector has the imprint ‘LS-15 Linetek’
What are the defects?
The power cord may overheat during use.

Haha, I'd like to accept that compliment, but it really wasn't. I wasn't really sure what the Linetek LS-15 cable was so I googled it, and the recall is the second result.
