[SOLVED] Laptop Won't Power On - Replaced DC Jack 3x

MOST AWESOME! Many thanks, Sir. I'll tear into it this weekend and get the mobo number.
This is great.
I've been thinking ( always a dangerous thing)
What would you think about a category of Manuals, Video Links, Schematics, etc. that we could post items in to share. Would need to be members only of course. I have a bunch I could share. Your thoughts please.

Parts People's DC jack (used, OEM) was too short. They say:

"After doing some research it looks like the DC jacks are dependent on the video chipsets, UMA or Discrete Nvidia. It looks like we had the DC jack listed for both types of video chipsets and that was not correct. The one you need is for the UMA video and we don't currently have a listing for this one. We can absolutely waive the restocking fee and I'll send a return label once I get it from our shipping team. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you."

Haha, that's not how we do it these days. If you're trying to identify or test loose SMDs you can pick one of these up for less than $20. Put the leads in slots, clamp it shut and push test. It will identify and give you a good idea if the component is good
Err, no leads on SMT stuff to put in the slots, you need either wired smt tweezers to connect to the tester or the more expensive smt test tweezers with everything built in.

This laptop was so problematic that I got the client to buy a very nice laptop from me for a discount rate. Haven't heard from them so all must be well.
