Laptop Screen Ignorance

For whatever reason, this isn't a repair I normally get. Anyway, I have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6086 for a screen replacement. I pulled the screen and the part number is LTN160AT06-U04.

Now, I've read the laptop screen pricing thread, but why in the world am I seeing screens go for $999?! Laptopscreen.com is out of stock and their prices were $179 and $249. Other sites have them around $300.

The cheapest I can find is Amazon and eBay. I'd prefer to go with Amazon since I can get it sooner, but unsure because it doesn't list any particular part number.

What seems like the best/correct option? I'm too poor to buy something if it won't work. :p

That screen is almost impossible to find. The ones that are cheap are almost always LED not CCFL screens and either you will get an adapter/converter or will need to buy one.

Places that price it extremely high are just too lazy to pull the item so they price it so that nobody would buy it.

@NYJimbo, this screen is in-fact a very rare screen, that hasn't been produced since 2010. But "AT06" is actually the LED version, you are talking about the "AT01" CCFL model that is the infamously impossible to get, since it was discontinued in early 2009, and the 16" standard was practically "phased out" by laptop manufacturers in 2010.

Also, eBay shops that put up the price extremely high are not doing it for their laziness - they do have to change the price which takes more clicks than hitting delete. The actual reason is because eBay charges fees to "put up an item", but does not charge to change it's price.
But in essence you are correct, shops put the price sky-high, so nobody buys the screen which they don't have.
