Has anyone had problems with KB 4074588 affecting the start menu on Win 10 ?

I had a Cyberpower laptop today with a " Critical Error " message when clicking on

the start button. I uninstalled the update and let it re-install it again. It worked fine

again until I re-installed KB 4074588 . I'm going to try and block the update with

the MS show and hide program for Win 10 , unless there is a better way to block it.

TIA !!

Dave

I can't comment on KB 4074588 I'm afraid, but I've just learned from your location that Scranton is a real place!

Yep! Spent a week there one night.........

You spent a whole week there in one night?

Is that because there's so much to do there you managed to fit a whole week's worth of activity into one night?

Or because there's so little to do there that one night felt like a whole week?

And, more importantly, do they really call it "The Electric City"? :D

Yes, it is called the " Electric City" !! It it's day it was quite a prosperous city......time has not been kind to it though.

Unfortunately it is now the "Garbage" capital of the Northeast. Trash is hauled in from neighboring states to monstrous landfills

just outside of the city. There are still large "culm" piles near the city. Culm is the waste from the areas' coal mining days.

At one time some of the piles were on fire and covered the area in smoke 24/7.

KB4088776 seemed to help fix the problem. Our shop lost the internet today due to a

cable being cut by a contractor, so I have to wait to make sure the "bad" update doesn't

try to install again. I renamed the Software Dist. folder in hopes it will help if the bad

update was hiding there.
