Just finishing up a server load up for a client. Kinda exciting as this will be my clients first experience with an actual server. This is the T610 - yes, Getting old in the tooth but performs very nice. 12 cores. Ive gotten about everything I can do offsite done. The look on their faces when I go to install this in about a week is going to be priceless

CentOS 7.5
Windows 10 in VM
VPN off site access for client
The normal stuff - Samba, DHCP, RAID....
Offsite backup and dual external SSD's for daily also.

Might have to pickup a controller battery for it but have to let it run and see - currently in "learning" mode. So, Ill look at it in the morning and decide then.

Got OMSA loaded on this one. Runs nice. Also had an issue with fan speed. Found that hardware that was added was new and not saved to "inventory". So, I did that and rebooted and "TA DA" normal fan speeds. ;)

I made one screw up. Accidentally ordered in 2.5 drives and the case came with 3.5 bays. So, I was able to locate adapters for it. Tragedy averted! :)

After I get this all installed plus a new AP for the main building, I will be setting up the wireless bridge to the building across the street :) .

Now, Im kinda burned out. Thankfully work has slowed down a bit but I have some catch-up work to do.

More Coffee please ....

The high today was 106F. Current temp is 100 with 106 heat index. 57% humidity.

Yesterday morning I was replacing an outdoor cat5e cable. It was pretty crappy but the clouds made it a little better...until the sun came out.

I better quit complaining then. I guess it could be worse for me. However, We are expecting thunderstorms all this weekend. Im going to Chicago with my girl to have a bit of fun. Gotta get away for a little bit. Nice Weekend thing. She likes to gamble. Of course, Anyone would when you use their money - lol...

I'll be in Chicago next month for the ITO Compass. 4 hour drive for us.

Are you going to see anything specific? I'm not sure what we're going to try to see for sure, but I'm thinking museum and Navy Pier.

Around here the beginning of July was so hot and humid it reminded of living in Houston, New Orleans and Lafayette. 90's and high humidity. I'd loose 2-3 pounds sweating during a run.
