Seems Trump has started a new war just hope no Canadians were hurt in the attack i hope he does not drag us into all out war.

Ugh, no! Lets not get all political here. But the facts are, that I am sure you're not aware of, is that Iran has carried out over 12 attacks in just the last 60 days against Americans &/or allies, it's just that the main stream media doesn't report on it because they don't "like" the president. Which is a shame. Most new's agencies are complete shìt.

Yeah, I'm not a Trump guy, but I am an Air Force brat with connections with military leadership. I know WTF is going on over there, and I agree whole-heartedly with Trump's decision to kill that monster. The "fallout" little more than what Iran was doing beforehand, with the media attention adjusted so hard it may as well be propaganda. Insert joke about stopped watches here...

It makes me wonder who the news works for... you want to spew forth the idea of fake news, but then completely miss the point of what it actually is... Just like Trump?!? Anyone with an objective mind, and an eye for actual detail of what happened know Iran was going to "back down". (Heck there's direct history on this, if anyone wants to remember how Reagan handled Iran)

For the rest, this helps: https://www.allsides.com/unbiased-balanced-news Get outside your filter bubble.

Thankfully I think most people, including Iranians, can clearly see that Trump is the problem, not America or its allies. Anyone with any intelligence can see he's a complete imbecile. The guy is barely literate and has the vocabulary of a 10 year old.

Hopefully the Iranians will take care of him without injuring any innocent people.

@Moltuae Trump is a symptom, not the problem.

And intelligence isn't an indicator of political affiliation. Even if you agree with the assertion that IT people are more intelligent than the general population... which I don't.

At first I was going to comment about Roborob's post. I WAS going to say what is wrong with a discussion in the General Forum about political issues. But, after seeing some of the comments that are coming forth, I now agree with Roborob. Some people (especially foreigners) seem to think they have the answer to the problem - Trump. I'm sorry folks, I'm 74 years old and this is the first president in decades that has the 'balls' to take on issues head on and not pussy foot around. Yes he a pompous but he is also not a pussy. Washington lifers are running scared. That's my $.10 worth!!!!

@Moltuae Trump is a symptom, not the problem.
I'd certainly agree that he's a symptom; a symptom of a broken system that gives voters very limited choices and allows idiots to rise to power. Same thing happened here, lumbering us with Boris the Buffoon as PM just because he was marginally better than the alternatives. Boris is a symptom just like Trump, but he's also a problem; the two are not mutually exclusive.

Nobody is forcing anyone to partake in a "political discussion" in the "General" forum. If one does not want to discuss politics, simply don't click here, IMO. The entire forum should not be 'punished' and disbarred from discussing the worlds most pressing issues because of another's poor self control and their feelings.

You know the fact this thread has to be watched, and people wish to avoid the topic due to the toxic mess it can degrade to...

That's the problem right there.

We can't solve adult problems if we as a society cannot have an adult conversation.

And of course you can interpret society as "American", "British", "Canadian", "Mexican", or "World" populations and the fact still holds. We're engineers and techs here... I find it hard to believe most of us can't see how these gears turn in this ugly machine.

Can anyone here guess exactly how long it would have taken for any one of us to be fired, if we build a system that generated results akin to the 2016 US Presidential election?

We'd be out on our arses so fast we'd leave skid marks!

But of course we all also know you can't fix stupid... and politics is basically a stupid singularity so I guess we're just screwed?

If people post political posts, they expect everyone to side with their point of view. Once others who don't agree get involved, time to throw insults I guess. Like Sky-Knight said in short, without insults this could be a good discussion.
