iphones showing connected to LAN Unifi

So a bit new to Unifi. At a college we help to support, been having a few issues with the Security Gateway getting really bogged down. Started looking and discovered about 4 devices that are iphones showing up connected to LAN.

Haven't seen alerts about any rogue access points, so I'm not sure how they are showing up this way. Recently things are running better, but we are curious how those are showing up. We are trying to manually push them to the correct VLANs so hoping they will correct themselves.

Anything to be on the lookout for or any good resources to check?

Some thoughts.

1. Alerts on rogue AP's? How's that configured?
2. How long have the been on there? Have you cleared the arp cache to see if they reappear?
3. Does an authorized device have internet connection sharing enabled?

Is the LAN port (switch port) that they're identified the same port that the AP is on? I'd start there.

I've often seen un-adopted access points client's show up as LAN connections.

Ironically just saw this a few minutes ago. Several years ago I installed 3 APs in a large home. Just APs, so no controller or anything else. Configured and left. About a year ago I put in a USG, switch and Cloud Key. The APs didn't want to adopt, it was a pain, so I left them alone. It all works now, and we're getting ready to upgrade them. But, this network showed every device connect to the LAN, but everything is actually wireless.

It's a longtime bug....sometimes a wifi connected client will show connected to the LAN.
