iPad screen replacement

Are iPad replacement screens easy to get? Where is the best place to get them?

I want to advertise screen replacement of iPads but I'm a little uncomfortable since I've never actually done one before.

And since, I'm taking screens off I may as well do full service of them...

yea I just got a call about one and I'm going to refer them to someone else. I love doing laptop screen replacements but I need to try this first before committing to a job.

you might want to do a forum search before taking these on. They are quite difficult, and there's a lot of discussion here in the last 6 months or so about problems you may encounter, if for nothing more than a "what to expect" before you start,...

I have been doing iPad digitizer replacements for a couple of months now. We also offer Apple's unit replacement. The iPad 2s are the only ones I have done, everyone always goes with a whole unit replacement for the 3s+. I wouldn't recommend getting into unless you anticipate doing a lot of them. Keep in mind that half of the time you will have to replace the wifi cable too, the adhesive is too strong sometimes. It is possible to keep it intact when the adhesive is strong, but very difficult. Also, if the iPad is bent or dented, the glass won't fit right. Also, it is hard not to get dust under the glass when you pit it back together.These are the only hardware repairs that I do that I feel I should be charging more for.

Wow, thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to skip on the iPads then. I mean, I don't plan on doing computer repair forever anyway, it's only temporary until I get more into business support, and I hope to outsource the computer repairs I need to do because I don't want to mess with them. I want to be more of a networking guy.

In all seriousness though, I completely agree. Although I think I'm more likely to hire a student/new grad to do my hardware repairs once I get to that point rather than outsourcing it.

Just started doing all those repairs myself and really not all to complicated if you pay attention and read the guides ahead of time that way you know where connections are etc that you should not mess with.
