Hi

I got a Toshiba Satellite C670 laptop with what does seem to be a driver issue. When Windows boots up, the screen is displayed but then goes blank when it gets to the password input screen so I plugged it into a external monitor and got a display so have worked out it's got to do with the Intel HD graphics installed so I uninstalled it in safe mode and it installs the basic display adapter and the display is fine then on the internal screen on the laptop but as soon as it installs the Intel HD graphics, the screen goes again and have to connect it to the external monitor so I need to find the latest driver for it but I can't seem to find it as bit unsure which one I need, can anyone help please

Thank you in advance

Never know. Is this W10? It's famous for hosing all kinds of things. Checked recent updates and tried removing them then re-install the driver? And are you installing Toshiba's driver?

Yeah it's Windows 10 Home 1803 64bit. I have uninstalled the Intel HD Graphics and it installed the basic driver adapter and the display is fine on the laptop screen. It installs the Intel HD graphics on it's own via Windows 10 but can't be the right one as the screen goes black when it gets to the password input screen

Things like this have been reported before, installing the M$ provided drivers causes problems. Go to Toshiba's website and get their version.

Think I am losing a fighting battle as it does seem that the system graphics are not compatible with Windows 10 due to the age and Intel have not released drivers

I'm not sold on the drivers you've got being a problem, if the external works and the onboard doesn't it seems to me that someone pressed the button to make the laptop default to the external display. Reset the LCD to be the primary, it seems to me the computer is doing exactly what someone asked it to do.

The screen comes on the laptop but as soon as Intel HD graphics is installed, the screen goes blank so I have to plug a external monitor in to see the display. The laptop is ok when the basic display adapter is installed but it installs the Intel HD graphics by itself and causes the screen to go black

I'll try snappy driver soon as trying to do a BIOS update as that seem to resolve the issue but getting a power state is not safe issue

This is the wrong time for the screen to turn off on a driver issue, its not impossible but based on timing alone I wonder if you've tried like a minimal startup, not safe mode but regular without any extra intel or toshiba services.
