Yet another reason why every single unit that passes my bench gets a bios update before I do anything else...

I will do BIOS updates first from now on I think before thinking it's a driver issue

I didn't bother looking up that machine. But if I have a machine that old that's one of the first things I'll do. In this case it's a 2011 vintage and a lot happens in the interim with an age gap like that. Back in those days BIOS updates were not properly advertised so almost all machines I've run into have never had an update from the shipped version.

I don't suppose theres any detail in the bios update notes as to what they changed to resolve this issue?

I couldn't find anything on the Toshiba site that I downloaded the BIOS update from but found this online when having a quick look. It's for a different Toshiba Satellite laptop than the one I had come in but the BIOS version is the same
