Ran into a situation today that I thought you might want to be aware of.
Had a customer with a verizon.net email address who accesses her email via webmail. PC is Win 7, Home Premium, SP1, x64.
Starting about a week ago, she would display her inbox and when she clicked on an email, the email’s header would show, but email’s body would be blank. (If she printed the email, everything would print as normal.)
Long story short: Verizon’s webmail page does not work correctly with Internet Explorer 11; prior releases of IE (and other browsers) work fine, it’s only IE 11 that fails. As you’re aware, MS Update is now installing IE 11 onto Win 7 systems, which must have happened about a week ago for this customer, which is when she noticed the problem. This customer was Win 7, but IE 11 in Win 8 might have the same problem.)
The ultimate solution is for Verizon to fix their webmail page, but a circumvention is to turn on compatability mode in IE 11 for the Verizon.net domain.
From the webpage displaying the inbox:
1. Click “Tools” on the IE 11 menu bar
2. Click “Compatability View Settings”
3. Add “verizon.net” to the list of domains
4. Click “Close”
The webpage will refresh and emails should now display correctly.
