IE & Firefox freeze loading flash

I have a problem with my browsers freezing up when loading anything in flash. As soon as I open youtube (for example) in internet explorer or firefox, it quits responding and needs to be closed. I uninstalled flash and reinstalled numerous times with no luck. Any ideas on what I can do next?
Specs:
Toshiba Satellite P105-S6147
Intel T2060 1.6GHz
2GB Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Internet Explorer version 8.07600.16385
Firefox version 3.6
Flash version 10.0.42.34

You say you uninstalled Flash but did you do it through Add/Remove or with Adobe's Flash Uninstaller?

What speed is the processor running at? I've seen the drivers go faulty which activates power saving mode. If its running at something stupid like 700mhz then it could cause flash to crash.

I assume the processor is running fine, the computer isn't slow and everyithing else is running ok. Where do I go or what tool do I need to see how fast it is running?

ok thats what I thought its running at 1.6GHz like it is supposed to.

Problem Solved

I installed new display drivers using windows update and it solved this problem.

Yeah I looked at that article yesterday and ran the uninstall tool and downloaded the current version of flash (I didn't try beta) and it didn't solve the problem. Thanks for the idea though.
