I just got off the phone with a man who wanted to purchase 10 19' LCD monitors from me. He is located 2 hours away and everything about the deal just seemed weird. I told him that he could get the monitors less expensively from a larger store but he still wanted to buy them from me.

I started looking up prices from my distributors and I just got a bad vibe about the whole situation. I told him that I didn't understand why he wanted to buy them from me and this time he got off the phone quickly. I had the feeling I was being set up for some sort of robbery or theft. Has anybody else in SoCal gotten this call? It came from a 760 area code.

I would turn that down some bs about not dealing in those quantities unless they are an established business client.

There might be a couple of reasons, it might be that they don't want to go themselves to the store, but rather someone else delivered them. They might be handicapped, and want you to set them up. Unfortunately, if they were legitmate, they would have explained that they would rather pay extra and have you hand deliver and set up, then for them to do it. Because they aren't your usual client, I would ask them to provide references, not unheard of, and that they would need to make a deposit prior to ordering.
