Trump dies from the virus. He goes to Hell where the Devil is waiting for him. "I don't know what to do," says the Devil. "You're on my list but I have no room for you. But you definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
I've got three people here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves." Trump thought that sounded pretty good so he agreed.
The devil opened the first room. In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty handed over and over and over, such was his fate in Hell. "No!" Trump said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long." The Devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. "No! I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!" commented Trump.
The Devil opened a third door. In it, Trump saw Bill Clinton lying naked on the floor with his arms staked over his head and his legs staked in spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. Trump looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this."
The Devil smiled and said, "Monica, you're free to go!"
..anyone else read this in a Trump voice?

I was having a bad day and not happy about waiting until the last half of it to find out they rescheduled my package that was already ON the truck and out for delivery.

This is EXACTLY what it's like to have a conversation with a chat bot. This was my convo from yesterday regarding a package I expected yesterday. No doubt many of you have tried and failed, as well. They are 100% useless.

I did not wait around to see what the response was to my last line....
😉

Here you go, Clippy to the rescue!

I doubt that anyone who's "customer facing" would be able to, or even attempt to, explain why something that was previously noted as out on the truck for delivery was rescheduled. I doubt they know, or can know.

It's happened to me before, on more than one occasion yet not tons of occasions, and I'm sure it's going to happen again. One of the many mysteries of the universe!

All they have are canned responses based on key words. These chats used to have live people on the other end.

Indeed they did, which I will not say was not the case in any way, shape, or form. But my experience with said "live people" is that they have been no more useful or forthcoming than the AI Chatbots are.

Much like the vast majority of front line, customer-facing tech support, what can be said on "the company end" is very tightly constrained. I've just long ago accepted (or rolled over and play dead, depending on your perspective) about just this sort of thing. In the end, "those in charge" tightly regulate, nay, dictate, what will and will not be shared with customers.

I usually just close the chat box but I was upset yesterday. And FedEx doesn't deliver to businesses on weekends so it's not like it was a simple 1 day delay.

I was upset yesterday.
Well, at least one can throw a vigorous F-Bomb at an AI Chatbot without feeling that one has "gone too far" with a human who probably would like to be anywhere else but on the phone with an upset customer on a tear!

I often have to tell my blind or visually impaired clients who are brand new to using a screen reader, and where a very human sounding voice is in use, that there is no offense taken at cutting off the screen reader at any moment point in time. Hit that Ctrl or Esc at will!

Cursing at an AI Chatbot, why not? As the late, great Mark Twain said: Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

My wives RAV 4 I pressed something on the screen, and I got How can I help you. My reply **** Off. Its reply I may only be a virtual assistant but your words are hurtful, please be more respectful. Thats when I really told it where to go. SO Firstly it tells me its not real, that I can accept. Then it tells me it has feelings. That I can NOT accept. Tonight I plan on consuming a bottle or rum and then talking to my toaster to see if it has feelings. TECH IS DRIVING ME TO DRINK

Not sure how they are in your neck of the woods, but here we get disclaimers when the chatbot opens, stating "This session will be terminated if our staff feel threatened" etc.
It's the same when you call on the phone - same message about "threatening and aggressive behaviour."

But here is the "kicker!" By the time you type what you want 10 times and it totally ignores your input and asks another question, and listen to the AI's introduction and the stupid jokes it tries to make you are so ****** off you can't help being aggravated at the "human" that finally picks up the call/chat.

I've found that if you just type - or say - "human" at every opportunity, it seems to skip a lot of the bs and actually connect you to someone.
