What kind of snake and is he poisonous? Kinda cute - NOT!

Its a Red Belly Black Snake.
They are not "deadly" like a Tiger Snake, Brown Snake, Death Adder or Taipan. (A bite from any of those will put you six feet under!)
Young children and the elderly may have problems with a black snake bite though.
My Father was bitten on the elbow by a black snake and it made him very ill. He didn't seek medical attention because he was so far from town, (changing a tractor tyre on a property) but after a couple of hours he was ok to drive home.
Took him a few days to get over it though.

yea Red Belly Black snake , not so venomous to some. Brown Snakes are the one to be concerned about here - killed a person just yesterday - within an hour.

Years ago when I was at a local swimming hole, one chased me in the water. Still continued till I got out then went away, aggressive buggers they are.

When we shipped our crims down to that godforsaken land all those years ago, who woulda thought they stood any chance of survival! No-one could've imagined that a couple of hundred years later that nation would be flourishing, sending back Skippy and soap operas.

You know what, I reckon all the snakes, spiders and crocs aren't real. I think when those early settlers arrived, from a dreary, drizzly Britain, seeing warm sunny weather and beautiful beaches, they couldn't believe their luck. They didn't want any more settlers arriving in their new-found paradise so they hatched a plan to keep immigrants and tourists away. That snake in the photo is clearly made of rubber

When police arrived the wallaby refused to obey directions and initially evaded police. A short pursuit then occurred.

I dont know if Aussie cops yell their commands like American ones do, but imagining them yelling with the Aussie accent, telling it to get on the ground using Aussie cuss words when it refuses... its just made my day.

Especially since they took into custody so it had a happy ending, instead of shooting it like American cops would have.
