HP Spectre not booting.

I have an HP Spectre, i3-ae023TU that suddenly went off while the client was working on an excel spreadsheet.
She said that she "was working then suddenly the computer screen went black."
It would not turn on after that.
She dropped it in to me for my opinion before returning it to Singapore. (As per HP's warranty return policy).

Pressing the power button makes the power on light come on for 3 seconds, then off for 3 seconds, on for 3, off for 3, on for 1 second then off permanently, until the button is pushed again.
Screen stays completely dark. No flicker of light, BIOS screen, error screen, nada.

Late in the day so all I have tried is a new PSU, although hers lights the charge indicator, as does the new one, so I'm presuming hers is working.

Any ideas before I start searching?

Searched for the specific model and tried the troubleshooting tips.
I tried the hard reset of holding the power button for 8~10 seconds.
Looks like it's going to Singapore.

Although this guide is for models between 2011 and 2015 it is the same issue.

It's only 6 months old. it's a sealed unit that I really don't want to pull apart in case it voids the warranty.

Fair enough. Just that I have known beep codes etc to lie in the past...still, if it's under guarantee, may as well let them sort it.

Thanks for all the replys guys, much appreciated.
Client took it back to place of purchase and demanded a replacement. They capitulated and gave her a brand new latest model. (After her husband started raising his voice in the store!)

I now get to set it up for her...cha ching!

Update: Client definitely got the better end of this deal!
They replaced it with an 8th Gen i7, 16GB Ram, and 1 TB SSD! Nice!

The old one had 7th Gen i5, 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD.

The system was an hp. What do you expect?

Just not an HP fan.
