Hello,

I have problem with HP probook, keyboard only work in BIOS. If I boot Hiren or USB BIOS update then keyboard is not working. I tryed USB keyboard but no luck.

What can I try?

Keyboard works in bios = hardware is fine.

Probably a reflash. I would double check the bios update and make really sure its the correct one or flash it back to the previous one.

Could you fill in a bit more about yourself in you intro? We here like to know all about your sorted past and present :) (OH, You did. I looked in your profile instead of the intro. Sorry)

I tryed reset all bios values.. If I try reflash, there need click "Enter", but its not working there.. In bios keyboard work well..

It's sounds interesting me too.

Yes, USB keyboard work in bios and mouse/touchpad also work in bios.

I need install windows on that computer, but cant.. I think there is something with bios, but only one "Enter" disable that option.

E: And if I try boot Windows installation, than I got blue screen, what says "BIOS ERROR"

Were they running Kaspersky by any chance?

No other codes on the BSOD?
I dont know what they running.
Now I got that bluescreen (when I instert pre installed windows HDD)

No.

In USB where I got new bios, I find config.sys

buffers = 20
files = 15
install = erompaq.exe
(and there I need click enter)

Is there some way to add there automatically "Enter" or something?

I've seen this message before when hardware was too old (is; originally XP but trying to do 7+) or when BIOS is horribly out of date.

Can you fill us in on what version of Windows you are trying to install and your method? Is; is the install sysprepped?

Thank you! But looks like I cant find help there..

This machine won't handle Windows 10. It's too old.

You may get it to run for a while but eventually...

The only way it could maybe handle 20 is if you maxed the RAM and put in a nice SSD. But that's money wasted on a very old machine. Tell your client it's time to upgrade.

Just for *hits and grins, Boot up a Linux Mint dvd and see if the mouse and keyboard work. If your really wanting to spend the time to do a bios flash then you might get away with it if you install wine from a boot cd and try and run their bios flash utility. Thats a bit of work but might be able to be done. Or.... boot up a Hirens cd and select the xp enviroment and see if you can flash it from there.

Op mentioned trying XP and it BSOD.

I don't think this system is worth spending time on.
Its very wierd. There is 4GB memory and in factory it has Windows 7.. Now I can't boot windows XP..
