I have an HP Pavillion DV 9000 laptop and it only boots up in safe mode properly. If it is started up normally the screen has random blue blocks all over the screen ,what is causing this issue, any suggestions guys??

I think it may be the video card failing or that a driver may cause this issue.

In safe mode you usually go into a lower resolution. So technically the video "card" is being forced to do more in regular mode and then it would more likely produce errors where it would not in safe mode.

I would go with the idea the laptop motherboard is failing. But you might want to check some threads in laptop forums on how you might save it from total failure, it could be the usual DV9000 heat issue.

I agree, why take on HP's problem and risk your own reputation if things don't work out?

I think people who experiment with short term reflow (GPU, SB, NB, whatever) see success and want to cash in, but long term almost all of these will fail again.

Even reballing on existing chips or going on Ebay and buying 2nd or 3rd generation Nvidia chips (newer masks and flips on multi-layers) still doesnt guarantee anything and unless you can fix the whole mess (GPU, NB, SB, lead-free dilation issues, foam padding, copper, etc) and improve cooling and venting, then these nightmares WILL come back to haunt you.
