I have a hp omni 100 all in one system here. The issue is it power on fans etc run. It displays Hp splash screen to enter bios etc. Though after that its just a black screen, with everything running Hdd, fans, power led. I have taken it apart down to motherboard and cant find any reason???
Thanks

Before you tore it down did you try booting to a different O/S? A "live" linux distro would give you the opportunity to see if it is directly linked to the installed O/S or not.

Have you tried an external monitor?

Doesn't even support the feature - no VGA, HDMI

Nope- after the initial HP screen wont boot anything

Here's a link to HP's solution to the problem, but I assume you've already did the obvious steps.

It would help if you say what you have tried, you might get more people helping then.

Will it go into the bios?

Could be keyboard fault, remove and re-boot, I've seen a faulty keyboard cause a similar problem.

Will it go into safe mode?

Could be faulty memory.

etc.
Give us more info on exactly what you have tried already.

Wont go into bios
Wont go into any mode
Wont boot from dvd
Wont boot via usb
Cant use 2nd monitor, no outputs
Tried hp "solutions"
It is an all in one touchscreen..keyboard cant be removed.
Tried no peripherals connected.
Disconnected hdd
Took out ram tried each
Capacitors visually fine on mobo
Cables ok and connected
Reset cmos via jumpers and battery removal.

As I said just black screen after initial hp logo, its still running just no display.

I suspect faulty mobo, I really must learn how to use an oscilloscope.

If you tried the HP "reset" stuff with no change then it's almost guaranteed it's the motherboard. Screens do fail but the numbers, from my experience, point to the MB. The problem with those AIO's they do not do the best product development testing. Here in the US those AIO's were well known to be a real pain.

From that I take it you aren't using a keyboard.?
As an All In One Touch Screen, you can still use a keyboard, there even better with one.

yeap as I said ..all peripherals removed, I had an external.

yea, HP or as I call them " Hardly Perfect " - do have overheating issues with many machines. Mainly due to poor design in heat dispertion. This looks good for a reflow method - dont want to use my own oven.

or this kickstarter though https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reflowster/reflowster-soldering-controller-for-surface-mount
