I have the main "Contacts" folder in outlook then a subfolder of that called "Shared contacts"

Lets say someone recieves an email from someone and instead of adding them to the default "Contacts" then manually dragging them to the "Shared Contacts" subfolder, how do I save it directly to the "Shared Contacts" subfolder?

Outlook 2007 w/ Hosted exchange

Example ... if I hit save and close ... this contact will just go straight to the contacts folder, and not to the shared contacts folder...

I did come across that .. it sort of helps ... what you linked basically describes how to change the default save location to SHARED CONTACTS but it doesn't allow the option to then save a contact into your normal CONTACTS folder.

So it basically creates the same problem ... just reversed.

sorry. I didn't fully understand what you were looking for.
Check this out, then:

some of their info is wrong, but the "move to folder" option might be useful for you if it works. I don't have outlook 2007 in front of me to check.

Well I thought that would do it but the Folder I want to move it to or the SHARED CONTACTS folder, does not appear in the folder list heirarchy ... it only appears as an address book and in the contacts area of outlook :( :(

Ok I got it thanks to your post ... I had to attack the sharer's mailbox to the account and give it full access so you could expand it and see the SHARED CONTACTS

Thanks again! Saved me!

I've always preferred dragging to the destination contacts folder, creates the Contact form which you can finish editing if needed, and save. The least effort and amount of mouse clicks.

I agree with you but I'm dealing with the "well at my old company we used to do it this way so you should be able to do that right?"
