Ive been working F/T for some years while operating a PC repair business after hours. The hours can be somewhat demanding but the way I minimise this is by trying to almost always pick up the customers PC and do the job at home. This allows time for me to attend to other household jobs while I scan a customers for viruses for example.
I did consider going F/T with my PC repair work a few years ago while I took a break from F/T work but the PC work was too unreliable. I also decided at that time that fixing PC's and relying on that as my sole income wasnt for me.
I enjoy the security working F/T gives me as well as the paid holidays. With the PC repair work I can also choose my jobs to a degree. I have flexibility. I can rely on a regular income no matter what and take the extra income when its available without getting anxious if the phone goes quiet. To me Ive got the best of both worlds and wouldnt have it any other way.
