The stupid is real.

In this case, I'm not even willing to class it as "the stupid."

It's what they've always known, which is very different than what most of us encountered when we were precisely their age. You could, after a certain age, get the same sort of reaction about, "those young whipper snappers that never laid eyes on a punch card!."

It's not even ignorance, per se, as you're not generally considered hugely ignorant if your awareness of technologies that long predated the present, and very often your birth (yes, we are there with teens and 20s) is limited.

And your frustration with the young is the flip-side of my frustration with the middle aged to old. Trying to get some of them to understand what a web search engine is, how it works, and how easy it is to use is a huge slog. The youngsters do this like breathing - without the need to even think about it - it's just how you do things.
