Hi everyone

I have one problem with windows xp prof SP3

After solving the problem of infection with system repair, the folders in my documents were all hidden. the option show hidden files and folders works.

Also the applications in start-> all programs were gone.

Now, after usting unhide.exe, alle files and folders are unhidden. so those two things mentioned above are ok now.

BUT, is there a way to hide the standard files and folders which are normally hidden by default?

You had the infection that moves all users desktop, start menu, and current user's quicklaunch folders/files to a user's temp folder. They weren't hidden, just moved. If you deleted temp files first, you deleted the goodies. Numerous threads here about this. You could always try system restore...

Actually, before the infection that moves the files, there were some that just hid them. I only had one of them in the shop and had to fix it manually as Unhide hadn't come out yet.

But, as far as re-hiding some of them, those should be marked as System files anyway, shouldn't they be? They'd remain hidden based on that flag.
