Charities are the way to hell paved with good intentions.
I hate all charities.
I never give them any discounts.
The only discounts they get are from the taxman (tax exempt)
The stupid are donating, and a big chunk of their donations go towards paying the employees, the executives and their tens of thousands dollars per year pension funds.
Another side of the charities, is where they help the poor in countries with strategic interest. Those charities are set-up by espionage agencies and most of their workers are doing a good job for their governments.
The stupid who pays few dollars does so with good intentions.
Edit:
I know an old woman, a customer, who from her very small pension donates a monthly fee of a few pounds to her favourite charity.
Every winter she prefers to keep the computer turned on instead of the heater, to heat her very small bedrom (the living room is as cold as in the Arctic).
The computer blows out some heat, and makes the temperature bearable.
Only when the temperature drops way below zero (outside) she turns on the heating.
Now, you tell me about that fat cat of executive of her favourite charity who lavishes in comfort due to people like this old woman.......
If I was one of them fat cats, I would jump from the highest building in town.
And by the way, this old woman is an educated ex teacher.
Second Edit:
Have a look at this job description if you want to work in charity and make $ 75,000 per year :
