Charities are the way to hell paved with good intentions.
I hate all charities.
I never give them any discounts.
The only discounts they get are from the taxman (tax exempt)

The stupid are donating, and a big chunk of their donations go towards paying the employees, the executives and their tens of thousands dollars per year pension funds.

Another side of the charities, is where they help the poor in countries with strategic interest. Those charities are set-up by espionage agencies and most of their workers are doing a good job for their governments.
The stupid who pays few dollars does so with good intentions.

Edit:
I know an old woman, a customer, who from her very small pension donates a monthly fee of a few pounds to her favourite charity.
Every winter she prefers to keep the computer turned on instead of the heater, to heat her very small bedrom (the living room is as cold as in the Arctic).
The computer blows out some heat, and makes the temperature bearable.
Only when the temperature drops way below zero (outside) she turns on the heating.
Now, you tell me about that fat cat of executive of her favourite charity who lavishes in comfort due to people like this old woman.......
If I was one of them fat cats, I would jump from the highest building in town.
And by the way, this old woman is an educated ex teacher.

Second Edit:
Have a look at this job description if you want to work in charity and make $ 75,000 per year :

Those who fear numbers rank up there with phrenologists and astrologists. Numbers are an invention of man; the value of those numbers have existed forever but that gives them no special meaning. "9 planets"? Whoooo... oh, wait... It's only 8 now. 12 zodiac signs....but 13 lunar cycles.... it's just a crutch.

If I gave a customer a bill for $86.66 and they refused to pay, I'd be keeping their computer. If they refused to call me because my phone number ended with "...666"? I'd have avoided a crackpot customer. That's a win in my books.

Not all Charities are run by fat cats sitting around raking in cash for their own benefit. I know a few people who work for charities and they do good work for fair pay. People like Marie Curie nurses who stay with families of dying people to give the family a rest and allow them to sleep without the risk of their loved one dying alone. I fail to see how that is a bad thing.

The idea that all foreign aid charities are espionage agents is hardly worth the discussing, it's so ludicrous.

And one example of a woman who decides how to spend her money putting others before herself is hardly proof that charities are evil. Some of the most generous people are poor because they know how much people need their help.

I'm guessing this is a typical US republican view on the world?

And I don't intend to waste any time in finding out a honest charity.
I only give to beggars on the street, and even then not to all of them. If they look professional beggars, I pass it.

Exactly my point, if you can grasp the idea.
People like Marie Curie ....
You are talking history my friend. The world has come around quite a bit since.
The idea that all foreign aid charities are espionage agents is hardly worth the discussing, it's so ludicrous.
You didn't read my post carefully. Read it again if you really care about what you say.

I don't live in the US, I am not a US citizen, but if I was, I would have probably made a good Republican

As a rather conservative republican in a very conservative part of a very conservative state, I can honestly say that I don't know a single person who has such an "interesting" worldview.

You are quite correct that many charities have no fatcats in them. I work for a couple of charities myself, and in both of them all members (including administration) are volunteers. 100% of the money we raise is spent to help people with various needs.

Yaknow... I usually stay far away from these type remarks, but this one just burns my a$$! <Edited to remove incendiary personal attack>

News for you, it's been shown time and time again that Republicans and Conservatives donate more time and money to charity than Liberals and Democrats. By a factor of about 10.

Please, if you don't know what you're talking about, keep your comments to yourself.

My MHelpdesk account number begins with 666, and is added to the client username when I issue client portal access or auto generate emails... because of this I have never used the client portal :)
