I bet microsoft just used a single hash to lock their HDDs. Thats' why you can switch out the HDDs and it works.

It seems this bit is hard to figure out but the first order of business is to figure out what BIOS software and versions do not support drivelock.

Once we figure out what we need we can hunt for a download for one of these BIOS versions. We also need to figure out if it will work for the mobo on the old xbox.

I was actually looking for an alternative way to do it on my own. However in any case a service is still required. do you change the price based on size of he HDD or brand, or whether the data is accessible or not?
