Greatest Support Call Ever

Phone tech support is definitely not for everyone. I did it for a while and found that it wasn't for me. I generally hated it and got annoyed very quickly, even with people I knew and liked. Other people I've seen seem to stay cheery and upbeat no matter how computer illiterate the person they're helping is. I was always amazed at how much better they were at phone support than I was.

A funny story that I was told about a user (so I didn't see it happen first-hand) from pre-year 2000, was that a user was wondering why all their floppies stopped working (but other people's floppies would work in this user's computer). So the tech goes to the user's desk and sees that the user has recently begun using magnets to stick the silver metal on the floppy disk to the side of their desktop computer's case. The mystery was solved.
