GPU Testing Software

I am trying to find a bootable GPU test to try and troubleshoot possible failing Graphics cards and GPU chips. I have been using Video Memory stress test by NVWorld, But it has not been updated in awhile and sometimes I question it's validity.

I know that there is Software that benchmarks and runs some test running in the OS, but I would like to try to find something that does not need an os or hdd to able to test it toes if it is functioning properly.

I don't know of any "offline" ones so to speak. I have always used furmark. http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
for my stressing of GPU.

They have several decent stress utilities. http://www.ozone3d.net/index_softwares.php

There is one called gputest I think that works on linux and includes furmark. Perhaps it could be set up as a boot cd to run just that.

Thanks Michael. Im getting that consensus also. Going to try and make a custom Linux Boot disk with some GPU testing software on it. Will take a look at the links you provided.
