View attachment 4514 Hey Guys,

It's certainly been a while since I've been on. I really love this community and I wish I had more time to contribute to it in a positive way. I just feel like venting a bit because I'm under a lot of stress. My son Cole who is 3 months old now is going in for open heart surgery to repair several complex defects and i'm under a lot of stress. That said.. I have attached a photo of a review I received this morning that doesn't even apply to me or my company. Any opinions on this matter? I called them and they stated they cannot remove it because he mentions my business name in the review.. Odd logic.

It seems "Carl" the reviewer got burned by another shop in the past and now seems to believe that I was the one who owned those prior shops.

Oh, and here is a picture of my son Cole :)

Thanks,

Dan

Dan, Sorry to hear about your son. I hope all goes well for him.

As for the bad review, Hopefully he removes it. It happens a lot to good businesses. Try not to get too upset about it. :)

Yea, It's just one of those times when you feel like you're trying your ass off for something and something like this comes along and it's totally undeserving. Anyway, I contacted the company that apparently owned those 2 business names and they are calling google as well. I will get this resolved for sure. Now i'm off to have a coffee ;)

Your response was very good (although with a little too much personal information - perhaps natural given the stress you're under).

I doubt many who read your response will be scared away by Carl's mistaken review. Don't lose sleep over it.

I agree with mraikes and would edit that rebuttal when you have time to prepare a solid response. The lack of paragraphs and excessive information makes it sound more like a knee-jerk reaction. Keep it professional and laser targeted to facts. This is your only business, opened at this time. Not sure if your State has open records for business enttities but you might even suggest he visits the Secretary of State website to see in fact your business isn't related to those mentioned businesses.

Once you establish some proof you're not related to the person he hates, I'd extend an olive branch and offer to look at any of the systems he's having problems with for free so he has an incentive to visit your shop and correct his review. Another strategy is to offer him a $XX coupon towards any of your services so he can experience service and know how committed you are to pleasing your customers.

Don't criticize him or make suggestions for him to live by, you're just baiting him for further insults. Your rebuttal should be 5-8 sentences max. 2 paragraphs; you're not the other guy, lets fix this issue (olive branch).

Now you may or may not get him to bite and resolve the feedback. Don't hold your breath with Google. Probably not going to do anything. The best way to combat a negative review when the person won't budge is to bury it with positive reviews. Engage in a positive review campaign and start building them. Years ago a neg like that was damaging. Today not so much. More and more people are exposed to these half-cocked drama queens that rarely have their facts right and they'll ignore his nonsense once you gain a few good reviews.

Good luck, I know the sting of those all too well and when I got my first one I did all the wrong things and made matters much worst. My first wing-nut went on a rampage and hammered a dozen citations and filed 3 or 4 ROR reports all with lies because my rebuttal to his first lie made him angry. I learned how to deal with these the hard way :( Bullies want rebuttals and confrontation. Don't engage them or call them out.

I think you should give Carl a review.

This is a review of Carl's Review:

I do not know Carl. I have never done any work for him but he thinks I have. According to Carl, I didnt do a good job. Well, I do not think Carl did a good job either with his review. After all, Carl does not even know where he got his computer repaired. In fact, Carl does not even know where his computer is! Poor Carl is out a computer because he probably was shopping for a computer repair by price.

Well, Do not be a Carl. Shopping for a cheap price to get your computer repaired can cause more problems than what its worth. Instead, Bring your computer to a fully qualified computer shop and get it fixed right. That is where we come in. We are fully certified and have many years of personal experience in the computer field. Also, When we are done repairing your computer - You get it back.

So, Carl,Next time you have a computer problem keep us in mind. We dont just do it. We do it right.
