Google paid for itself

Hey all,

As I have stated at various times on this site, I am just on the verge of going full time after doing computer repair/web design around my day job for about 6-7 yrs.

One of items I put some effort into was getting in good on google. I started a very small Adwords campaign made sure I had keywords, added myself to Google Maps... etc etc

Well today it paid off - I only spent a bit of time, and not even 5 dollars in adwords and I got a call from a place down south to setup a kiosk at a local Walmart where I live - the pay isn't bad for less then an hour of work. When I asked how he found me, "oh, you were the first link on google...".

Just thought I'd pass on my good experience...

Google Adwords function slightly different than the results from an internet search. When you pay for adwords you can show up in the top 3 or along the right side, all of which as advertisements or sponsered links in Yellow. it just goes to show that if you actually fork down some cash, you get better treament, than not.

Yup, I got better treatment when I did it... From the spammers of the world. I got so much spam and not a single valid sales opportunity. Money wasted for me. But at least I tried it.

I know I mentioned Adwords, but I didn't get the business because of it - I was simply was the first one on a regular Google search.

I used Google Adwords for a week or so, and only received 1 call, which was a rate shopper. I used a budget of $200 bucks. I guess the market out here in So Cal is so tight, I was spending up to $8.00 a click just to get within the first three pages of results

I suspect the biggest boost was putting my location in my webpage title and adding the keywords metatag to my website... It took almost two weeks until I noticed a change in my ranking.

I also added my business to Google Maps.

google adwords is helpful but it is short time archiving when price of click go's high then what.. Will you pay more for you adwords campaign??
personally telling you guys web promotion is slowly and steady and it give better business..
