Hey guys,

I don't know what I've done wrong, but my Google Calendar on my desktop PC is driving me absolutely nuts.

As you know, the very first time you logon to Google Calendar through a browser, it pops up & asks you if you want to allow the site to display notifications / pop-ups, and you can select either the gentle alerts that display in the bottom right corner of your screen / pop-overs, or the super duper insanely annoying, makes me want to murder a Google engineer ones that hijack your browser, kick you out of whatever window you were in, alerts.

I'm trying to get the gentle reminders back but have had zero luck.

Here's what I've done:

- Gone into Calendar Settings, numerous times have toggled on & off the setting for "Notifications / Use browser notifications instead of interruptive alerts" This makes no difference; I still get the ultra annoying interruptive alerts, whether the box is checked or not.

- Added Google calendar to the pop-up exception settings in Chrome's pop-up settings. I've added multiple different URLs; i.e.; google.com/calendar, calendar.google.com, etc.

- Checked that my settings are identical to my laptop; my laptop IS configured properly with the gentle notifications that appear in the bottom right corner of my screen.

- Logged completely out of Gmail / Google, deleted ALL Google-related cookies.

- Numerous times deleted all Google cookies.

- Yes of course I'm on the latest version of Chrome.

I'm at the end of my rope.....it is driving me crazy.

Please help. Thank you!

Aaaaannd....that's precisely where my username comes from!

Most people think Indiana Jones, which is another favorite of mine, but nope.....Aqua all the way baby!

:-D

Seriously McFarland..... I can't thank you enough.
I'm sure you've had a windows program pop-up / interrupt you, jerk you out of what you were doing.....imagine that happening...Every. 30. minutes.

I even modified alerts on my calendar to get email only & NOT pop-ups, but then when I enter events on my iPad / iphone, it defaults to pop-up notification.

It was truly driving me insane.

Thanks again so very much.
