You have to install and activate it before the Giveaway offer for the software is over.
Terms and conditions
Please note that the software you download and install
during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
1) No free technical support
2) No free upgrades to future versions
3) Strictly non-commercial usage
This, after paying for the lifetime upgrades. Grrrr.
Edit: after carefully reading the EULA, there is no mention of using the software for personal use only, only that it shall be used on up to two computers at the same site, plus other unrelated stuff. So I conclude that I can legally use it to work on my customer's hard drives slaved to my PC, but can't install (or did it say "use"?) the program on the customer's PC. I can live with that.
The "no commercial use" restriction is from the Giveaway of the Day site, not the software EULA. I don't know if it is legally enforceable or not, but I've stopped following Giveaway of the Day because of this.
I'm a lousy (careless) reader, but I don't see where it says "personal and commercial" use on that page. I do see where it says "Available to Provide Technical Service to Clients" and only the Tech version is checked. In any case, I think such pages are irrelevant and that only the EULA applies. Can't seem to find the EULA in the installation files without re-installing the program, but will keep looking, or re-install if I have to. The EULA makes no mention of restriction to personal, non-commercial use, as far as I can see.
