FTP Software (Free)

Cuteftp / SmartFTP are good but they only offer 30 day trial period & you can't use them after 30 days. Is there any FTP software which is free for life and works great for normal users?

You can still use SmartFTP after 30 days, it just has a popup at the start telling you to register.
A good free FTP program is FileZilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net). I have found it can do certain things that SmartFTP cannot.
I came across it when SmartFTP used to disconnect me when I tried listing a remote directory with 17,000 images in it. So I tried FileZilla and that could do it fine.

Yeah right...i believe that SMART is a freeware FTP Software since up to date...i'm still using it without registration...

I have had a lot of experience from FileZilla. It is both fast and realiable. It also has some interesting extra features that I have used more than once.

Filezilla is the only way to go! I love the permission function the best. I struggled with some ssh program and people (techs) treated me like I was stupid. Filezilla rocks!

I seem to like Core FTP Lite over Filezilla. Likely because Filezilla is fugly.

I like leechftp's multi-threaded transfers, but it doesnt handle DVD sized files. If a file is over 3.9gigs it wont show in the list of files on an ftp site, and LeechFTP errors at that point.

FTP Manager Lite is a better freeware FTP and SFTP client software. The clean interface is super easy to use. It will perform your files transfers quickly and efficiently. It is one of the best freeware FTP clients that also supports FXP.

Dat thread revive tho. Filezilla is the one i use. Wish I didn't due to the whole sourceforge adware junk crap they try to trick you into.

I know it's not free, but I bought FlashFXP ($29.99) and it is the one I found to be the best. The "Free" trial version does everything but will start nagging you after 30 days at every start for a 30-second timeout period.
