Fab's AutoBackup 6 Pro - a must have tool for techs

Hmmm... Not sure why I have hit or miss results with FABs on these two (Firefox & Thunderbird) but switching to the right profile after FABs is just a couple clicks. Could be I've used FABs before on a few and after on a few which may explain my mixed results.

I'm struggling with a FABs backup run. This is just a computer replacement, the old hard disk is good (although windows was corrupted). There is a large (180GB) folder on the desktop with pictures in it. On nearly every file, we get a warning from fabs - "Copied file size does not match with original file" then it lists the source path.

Also "Copied file date does not match with original file" then it lists the source path. It does copy the file, but it's taking 30 or more seconds per file, which average 2 to 4 megabytes in size.

I already have an image of the disk, but since I haven't seen this message before, I thought I would post. Does this sound like plain old file corruption of some sort or something else? I guess I might have expected the error message to point to the destination path if there was a problem with the copy...

Even if the hard drive looks fine, the file system must be corrupted, so those files are as well.

A new Fab's AutoBackup update has just been released :

Version : 6.12.0.31407
Date : 12/29/2017

Added :

- Better behavior when dealing with mapped network drives if the current user account is an administrator and use such drives. Full UNC paths are still the best option for network file copies.
Fixed :

- The registry exports were not generated when the running operation system was Windows XP. In Example, it was not possible to backup then restore Outlook Express settings.
- The first "Next" Button could be enabled even if there was no valid backup path set up after selecting another user name as data source

Version : 6.12.0.31411
Date : 12/29/2017

Fixed :

- The first "Next" Button could remain disabled when another drive was set as source and the backup folder was a network UNC path.

Grab it from your orders history's details or using the updater tool (click the "Fab's AutoBackup 6.X is available" link within the program and get the updated files).

Has autobackup always done wireless keys on unbootable systems? I just realized it did, but thought at one time it did not.

People who wine about the price, Autobackup can restore contacts and calendar from the newer versions of outlook even on dead systems running imap, this is amazing

You are right. It was not possible until Nirsoft Wireless Key View 2.0 supported it.

Who is complaining about price? ;)

Hi folks,

Yet another Fab's AutoBackup update :

Version : 6.13.1.31469.
Date : 02/16/2018

Added :

- Message prompt if there is not enough free space for restore or transfer jobs.

Fixed :
- Improved mouse wheel scrolling behavior on additional folders tree.
- Exclusion of "System Volume Information" and "$RECYCLE.BIN" folders, "pagefile.sys" and "hyberfile.sys" from additional folders feature. Copying these files is useless, Windows locks them and they throw non blocking warning and error messages.
- Random memory issue when running from a removable media or a network location (External exception c000006).

Grab it from your orders history's details on the shop's website or using the bundled updater tool (click the "Fab's AutoBackup 6.X is available" link within the program and get the updated files).

Personally, for what this software does for a tech the price could be higher or, you'd talked about a modest bi-annual renewal fee which is fine by me also. Great piece of software that just keeps getting better. My compliments and appreciation.

In fact, I talked about an annual renewal fee.
This will start with Fab's AutoBackup 7: The program will come with updates for a year. If it reaches this time line without renewal, it will still work but will not be able to get new updates until renewal purchase. This is not a subscription model but it will bring me recurring revenues anyway. Best of both worlds IMHO ;)

Hey Fab, i went to get the latest version and noticed you're giving a 3 user license of Emsisoft for one year! I wanted to get on that train so I purchased a copy of Fabs Autobackup (dont argue :)) to get the EAM license.
But I cant seem to download it anywhere?
Note say "download links are disable because the product is marked as delivered"
Not worried about the copy of Fabs but would like the EAM key please.:)
