Excel 2007 - Why is it so bloody slow?!

The speed of Excel 2007 is really starting to grind my gears now. It doesn't matter what I do, it just takes ages to carry out any kind of action. Add some text to a cell...15 seconds later it completes it. Resize the width of a column...15 seconds later it finishes. Has anyone else experienced this? Google brings up a load of results for "Excel slow startup" but it starts up pretty quickly for me. Any suggestions folks? Running Vista Ultimate 32-bit with SP1 and Office SP1 + updates, no anti-virus running and no active add-ons.

I'm really tempted to roll back to Office 2003 but I'm worried my outlook 2007 emails won't be compatible.

I don't think the compatiblity pack works for Outlook just the rest of the applications. I have the Office 2007 and have not seen this issue what are your computers specs my PC is fairly new but still XP. I have seen some issues with add-ons and such slowing it down drasticly.

Specs are E8400 @ 3.8ghz, 4gig ram, 8800ultra, 2 x 250gb RAID 0. I hope I don't need to upgrade as I've spent way too much on this computer :p

I will try a blank Spreadsheet later on to see if the problem is still there or if it's just in my accounts spreadsheet.

I just wanted to make sure and yeah you run it on more of a beast then I do. Somethin aint right with yours but I honestly don't know what the only thing I can still suspect is add-ons as even a beast can be slowed by poorly designed add-ons.
