Hi guys/gals

I have a client that sends a ton of photographs and files by email and wants to cut down their email data transmissions. They are aware that it is possible to create hyperlinks in Word documents that the recipient can then click to download and view the files.

What is the easiest way to set up such a system? Will a local webserver be needed? Are there any issues with firewalls to consider?

Thanks

Stu

You can easily create hyperlinks in Word documents to an outside URL. The only problem is showing your customer how to ftp the files to some sort of web server that is accessable from the Internet.

That's what I was thinking thanks, but the customer was making out like there was some really easy method of doing it, which is news to me.

maybe they want to embed the file into the word doc? That why they can just send one huge .doc instead of 20 email attachment pics.

I've just found this - check out Imageshack quickshot v1.52 which adds a "1-click upload" option to the right click menu.
