Download viruses for pratice

A while back I found a thread on here of a place you can download viruses. You can use it for practice. I have a guy working for me that wants to learn to do virus removals. He is not really a tech yet. He is real good at merchandising in the store but really wants to learn some tech stuff. So I figured we have an extra computer to have some fun with, we could give it a virus and give him some practice removing it. Maybe we should to it in a VM environment. If he could get a grip on removing viruses (or even just the easier viruses) this would free up some of my time to work on the more challenging computers that come in.

Anyways for the life of me I can't find that thread. Does anyone know the website that has the viruses to download?

Another tip, if you are going to download malware off the malwaredomainlist site, it's best to do it within a Linux environment (which can't execute .exe files by nature). I have a linux virtual machine set up, just for this. Then, archive the malware you downloaded, transfer it onto the machine you wish to do the malware removal testing on. Disconnect that machine from the network, and execute the malware.
