Hi technibble my first post please be kind

I am thinking about having some business cards made for the first time.
I have read some review about vistaprint and some are good but alot are bad. just wondering if anyone has used them before.

thanks in advances

Ben

I used Vistaprint. I didn't have any issues with the quality of the print or the card stock.

I don't like conventional templates, where you just fill the info out and bang it's done, so I tweaked around with mine, and got the layout I wanted.

For the price I thought it was worth what I got.

thanks for replying

on the reviews they were saying about lots of hidden costs they add at the checkout

I've always used them. I never order what I don't have a discount/coupon for through them, because they keep them coming regularly.

Except don't get the free biz cards with their own logo on the back, of course.

I do recommend upgrading the card stock from standard to the next one up.

I used Vistaprint when I first started off. I wasn't impressed. I asked them for a sample pack of cards so I could evaluate the quality because I believe the quality of card says a lot about you and your company. They said they didn't do samples but I would 'be happy' with the quality. When the cards arrived they had been cut slightly crooked and the quality wasn't very good for their best. I also got some fridge magnets made out of the business card design and they were great. I ordered some business cards elsewhere and they sent me a sample pack the day after requesting them. The quality of them was fantastic, they did cost more but I was going for quality all along.

Once Vistaprint have your email address you will be spammed to death by them. Eventually I managed to unsubscribe after several attempts.

I don't think they have hidden costs.

They just try to sell you things like: card holders etc etc before you can check out.

Just make sure everything that is in your basket is what you want.

Agreed. They let you know the whole way through that if you add features what it will cost. Again they do try to sell you "extras", but you don't have to buy them.

thx

thanks you all

I didnt would to pay vistaprint and find that the bad reviews were right.

I will have to order some in the new year.

I had seen somebody's Business cards that they ordered which were the low quality card stock and they didn't even get the gloss on the face.

These did look like how you described, poor, crap and would not have myself!! Kinda stuff.

your cards do say a lot about yourself as a business and one of the most Important business discisions you have to make.

I agrees the business card should look nice and feel nice because they could be the first thing a new customer see

I suppose that's why they don't give you samples. The ones I ordered were the best quality they had on their books(2 years ago). The ones I have now I think are 400gsm laminated both sides.

I remember my last compan were on some sort of eco drive and I was a consultant going to companies who were being charged £1000 per day for my services and the card I handed them on my arrival was extremely poor quality. I apologised for everyone I handed over. :o

They say the first 30 seconds creates an impression but I also think a business card does also.

i think of it like this
If a customer has been give two business cards by two different techs

1st card poor quality and unglossed

2nd card good quality and glossed

who are they going to use?

I was not impressed with even their best quality business cards. I now use printing for less for my business cards.

I do use them for my banners.

I'd say it depends on other things like:

How do you hold up to there questions?

Your own personal presentation.

There are other factors to take into consideration than just your business cards. But that alone may get you the call for a consult over the other company

i agree with is as well and they may hold on to it for longer has well

The colour on the cards I bought from Vista print was way off, as you can see below (good colour on top). They reprinted the order using the correct colours and I use the bad batch for notes, but I didn't appreciate the waste of time. Many people have said good things about gotprint.com.

Did they just get the color wrong from what was online when you produced the cards?
