***EDIT***
MHelpDesk has resolved this issue. Please read through the thread before adding your own "OMG I CANT AFFORD THAT" post.

When I signed up for mHelpDesk a few weeks ago, I had picked their lowest-priced plan, which was somewhere around $20 per month for 1 user, and had limits on the number of invoices per month... I just looked at my Pricing page tonight, and now it shows me on the Silver package at $70 per month for 2 users and unlimited invoices, and there's no way for me to downgrade... what the absolute **** happened?!?!

Also, when I go to their main site and look at their plans, the lowest plan listed is $150! The "Silver" package isn't even listed! Seriously about to pack up my invoices and go back to Quickbooks... this is some BS.

Hopefully this won't affect existing customers, they've already had an earlier price change but my old plan has continued. I'm surprised at this latest change though, even if they want to bring in bigger clients, why alienate small businesses? Anyone from mhelpdesk care to comment?

Have you tried contacting them? I have been using mhelpdesk for a while and Vincent has always been quick to respond to any issues.

Never trusted the subscription model.
Especially for online software.. I prefer total control even at the expense of using an old version for many years

@docgreen - your pricing should not have changed. Contact us if there was an error in your plan and we'll take care of it. We have always kept our promise on grandfathering plans for our existing customers. We would never raise prices on any customer that has been with us in the past.

Please contact us with your account number or username and we'll double check your plan. As others have stated in this thread, their pricing didn't change since they were existing customers.

Our new pricing plans only affect new customers. Also note that the prices did not change. In fact, the per user pricing is actually cheaper now. We are simply restructuring the plans to include more licensing per plan.

There was never any bait and switch. If you were paying for a plan your plan prices have not changed and will never change. Hope this clears things up.

@pbcomputer - You have nothing to worry about. You are grandfathered into your plan. Your plan did not increase. We have discontinued the Lite plan. The reason is twofold. We have been very aggressive on new development and also feel that we offer a level of support that is unmatched. To continue developing new features for our clients and providing the best support possible, we simply couldn't continue offering our services for $15 to $19 dollars. We hope you guys understand.

So the basic including 5 users is $150 a month? For one man bands like me it's out of the question. That's $1800 per year or am I getting it wrong?

I've read it the same way you have Martyn. That's a heap of money to pay for a one man band. Too much I think for the new clients. Time will tell..

I'm just glad I got in when I did. Your support and development rate is awesome and I understand that supporting too many customers for too little money can eat up your resources.

I am on the old Solo plan. So I am locked in at $19.95. But the Basic plan is too big for many small IT shops. I think they have priced themselves out of the market. Which doesn't bode well for them surviving long term. Time to start looking at other solutions should this go belly up. :(

And they raised prices in July of last year. So this is two price increases in less then one year.

And if you are forcing people to buy 5 logins that they don't need it is a price increase. Even if per login it is cheaper so what? I'm a one man shop might be as many 3 at most. Will NEVER use a 5 man plan. How many potential customers are you turning away with this price scheme?

Since you are still in the trial period, did you check your pricing tab to see if your prices changed? Or are you seeing the same prices as before?

The first thing I did when reading this thread was to check my account to see if it was grandfathered but it it showing the silver ($69\mo) as the default (and cheapest) option.

Price increases are fine but this is somwhere in the magnitude of 3-4x more expensive *mind explodes*

Oh dear. I love mhelpdesk, but this is painful pricing for one-person shops like myself. I could never get in on this now, and I can't recommend it to my clients (usually one-person businesses like me) either...there's no way they could afford that.
