It sounds like he wants to right click a file or folder & click "Send To"? He could setup Gmail as an IMAP account in Outlook or Windows Live Mail. If he wants to use webmail there's a program called Affixa that will do this. Here's the Lifehacker article.
download windows live essentials and setup windows live mail (? i think is what they are calling it now) as your default mail client. now whatever email your client uses it will load through live mail(?).
another good free client is thunderbird. whatever client you install just make it default.
really the only one i hate is incredmail. it sucks imo anyways.
I think the best solution is to use Mozilla Thunderbird for email client, its so easy to setup and use and end users prefer it over the crap Outlook that most people for some reason love to use.
