I have a client ask about recovery of a bunch of deleted photos from a galaxy s4. I was looking for best practices or just some general direction. Is it possible to do a sector backup of the device, then do a raw or some other type of recovery? Any suggestion would be appreciated

There are a couple mobile forensic tools that can likely help but they are not cheap.

You will likely also need root access to the device.
