Hey, just wondering if anyone has converted a Acronis True Image Home 2009 tib file to VHD.

I have had a look around and according to Acronis this feature was 1st added in version 2010.

Anyone know any third party software that would do this.
Or is it possible to download a trial version of the 2013 to get this done.

The reason I would like to do this is because I am trying to test out backup images from a clients XP machine. Just incase we have to restore in the future.
I would rather test a VHD in a virtual machine than physically do this with another HD.

Well James no success.

When trying to load a tib file the program doesn't even see it?

BUT, loads up fine when using the ATIH2009 boot CD?

Which version of Acronis are you trying to open the image with?

If you have a spare hard drive you could just restore the image to that to test that it works.

Another option is to use VirtualBox or VMWare Player to create a blank virtual machine, plug in an external with the .TIB on it, boot to the Acronis 2009 CD inside the VM, and restore the image to a virtual drive. It may not boot but you would at least know that the image works. If you're not familiar with virtual machines it would be easier to use a spare hard drive though.

Acronis backup and recovery 11.5.
Couldn't find 10.

You would think they would make their programs to work with images taken with older programs.

Oh well...
