Interesting, I've never had a machine short out using an air compressor to clear it. I live in a desert, hot, dry, and dirty. I just take the rig outside, and let it rip while ensuring the fans don't rotate. Often I'll be sitting in the middle of a mushroom cloud made out of dirt, no ground straps... ever. Just 40psi of air.

Update - Turns out the used replacement board I got from ebay was defective. Installed a new one from the egg, and all is well.
