Corrupt AVI files

Does anyone know of any software that will repair corrupt avi. files. I have recovered 200 avi files with average size of 23,000 kb and all are corrupted. I figured since the size of the files were decent size that hopefully some of the footage would be recoverable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I remember a program from a few years ago called divfix. It fixed avi headers and enabled what was there to play

Also, sometimes, VLC player will play corrupted AVI files.

Vicenarian, thanks so much for the link. Several of the programs on the link have helped me recover a few of these files

One of the problems with AVI files is that the 'information' about things inside is located at the END of the file.

This is why AVI files never work when they're only half downloaded, but OGM/MKV did.

The trick, usually, is to find a program that will scan the file and re-create the end data.

Unfortunately, I forget the name of the program I used to use for this purpose.
