I have noticed that some techs here in my department, run the Windows classic theme no matter which OS it is. We recently upgraded to WIndows 7 and the first thing these few techs did was change their theme back to Classic.

I am just wondering if I am missing something here? I personally like eye candy, but these guys prefer that windows 95 gray look lol.

Anybody else rock the classic theme?

All of my machines use the classic theme.

I love eye candy.. And with the eye candy you get some new features to. Personally I tend to look forward and not backwards. The classic theme is so 20th century. lol...

Tell the boys to get with the times or the themes.. :)

On vista it improves performance noteably, but I prefer the classic theme (when I'm not running linux that is). On a Vista machine watch the memory usage of 'dwm.exe' plummet when you revert to a classic theme :)

I tried classic and I really do not mind it in other words I could use it and not miss anything, for I do not really use or did not use any of the new features.

I have been using the classic view for a few hours now, and it seems easier for me to rid around and do tasks, for there isnt any creature comforts that get in my way it is just raw.

I feel so alone on this issue.. Oh well.. The only time i use the classic theme is on my server. I notieced that it took a hit with the Aero stuff. On my netbook once its on battery power it goes to a non-aero theme which I like.

I run classic theme on all the xp boxes that I manage, speeds things up considerably when you are only running 512 of ram. I am running win7 on my box though and I have everything turned on to be fair I have 3GB of ram in my lappy.

On my system i have 4GB of ram and i am running so many stuff programs in the background that i cant even slow down my computer.. A few days ago I forgot that i had 2 games running at the same time while surfing the web and forgot that they in fact where running. Plus i had all the eye candy running in windows 7 and the system never slowed down. :)
