[REQUEST] Change Windows10 x32 to x64

Funny. I've been doing it the other way around!

I've been changing 64bit installs to 32bit for a local software developer here. Their software won't run on 64bit, so I've been changing them to 32bit for them until they're ready to release their 64bit version.
They load their program on a desktop and actually ship a desktop with the program preinstalled.

Ran into some issues with it because newer processors won't run on 32bit.

Question here:
They are Devs and cant install an OS? Or do they have no time for that?

Time mostly.
But, when they first encountered having issues trying to switch to 32bit (because the CPU wasn't compatible), that's when they called me in, and have just stuck with me doing it.

Writing software doesn't mean you know computer hardware.

@Barcelona,

Yessssss. That's exactly right. Another pro tip, make sure your router is higher than your computer so your data flows "downhill." :rolleyes:
This is why I love TN, so many good tips!
Never thought to put the router up on a shelf. Downloads will definitely be faster! ;)
I'll need a more powerful PC for uploads though, pushing data uphill will need more power! :cool:

I wonder why? Are they some sort of elite old school coders writing in pure assembly that haven't made the jump to 64bit?

Well it's more an engineering firm.

They build some kind of proprietary software/equipment for seed management as I understand it.

Don't really know more about it than that. I do know they ship their product around the world. Last one I did for them was going to Australia I think.
