Cats or pets thread

I like the idea, but I think if I were doing that I'd want a reflective collar - and the GoTags reflective collars are apparently not good. I may still get one of these for our explorer cat.

Explorer cat gets out on a leash and harness a few times each summer so she knows the 'hood a bit. I'm not so worried about the other. With him, I took him out on leash and harness and left him tethered ~12 feet from the door while I went back in to get explorer cat. When I came back out, he'd pulled completely free of the harness and was crying at the door "Don't leave me out here alone!"

What I'd really like is if you could get custom embroidered labels with 2-3 lines in smaller quantities - I'd take a 1" label with the info and stitch it onto a reflective collar for the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, it seems like pricing and quantities for those start around $40 for quantities of 20+ - I'd go for that if we had an outdoor cat disposing of collars, but not so much for an indoor one.

We have to keep him in the back or he'll pester them to death. Our experience with Maine Coons is they're very sociable and friendly with just about everyone.
My sister once had one of these and at the time his name was "Lucky" - he was lucky to be alive with 3 legs after being run over by a car. When I would go and visit her (I need to do that more often) I would always ask where "tripod" was hiding and of course she would get onto me about his "correct" name. But he was a lover & the friendliest of all her cats (god rest his soul now that he is in cat heaven.)

Awww thanks. He really was family. In our twenty years of having rabbits, none of them have ever seen the inside of a cage; they've all been house rabbits. (So no Ethan Allen furniture for us, but what a joy it is to come upstairs in the morning to see leaping bunnies greeting you!).
Now I have a better understanding of your user picture.

We have a main coon and it demands constant attention 24/7. If I even sit on the couch at night she is right there wanting on my lap. The weird thing is - I really do not pay much attention to this cat. My wife feeds and takes care of her all the time but the cat just seems to love me for some reason. When I come home from a service call she is always waiting for me at the driveway (lol).

I am not a big cat fan and would rather have a dog. But this cat can not get enough of me for some reason. ?

We've also got a dog. His name is Buddy and he is a retriever mix. Great dog. He was originally my wife's dog but she'd tell you now that he is my dog - although he is on the bed with her at the moment. Someday I may figure out how to post some pictures in these forums and share the pictures of our 2 cats and our 1 dog.

Cheers!

I'll throw in a picture of Maximus (or Moosamax, or just Max), the cat who desires Not To Be Outside. Gracie the explorer cat will have to wait until I can grab a shot of her napping on my new laptop bag - she's decided it's comfy, but I neglected to snag a picture before I dislodged her to actually put a laptop into it.

You can tell the laptop is probably not a customer's by the Vim icons on the desktop....

This is my Miniature Schnauzer called Jasper. Looks grumpy most of the time but he's good company during the day in my workshop. :)

And this one would be the Gracie the explorer cat, who has decided that my new laptop case is adequately comfortable.

And an update with her sacked out on the nice warm power adapters, along with the implied threat of "I can shut you down any time. My paw is on the button."

I was visiting my daughter and her fiancee this weekend for wedding stuff. Back in early '16 they decided to get a dog. Her fiancee, being in law enforcement, wanted a German Shepherd since he had worked with them before. They selected a nearby breeder who specializes in them but only sells to current or former LE and Military. As you can see by Ranger's response his breeding shines. Might need to turn up the volume a bit though to capture the full experience.

My three boys, Billy, Teddy and Jai and one little lady, Wendy!
Oh and Jess, the dog!
Cats have never been outside! They are exclusively indoor.

Sigh. My little buddy died Sunday night.

My little buddy Oliver. I got him when he was 2. He had a good life, except in the last little bit his breathing was getting harder and we knew something was up. :(
