But they can be so loving and such good comfort to you, let alone keep you warm on cold nights. Our dog (Buddy) is a real good watch dog. He even lets us know when our neighbor across the street gets home. ;)

I was happy that she would take the dog for walks, and i could simply have a friendly dog in the home. Walkies looks like the most stressful time! and that dog is sooo cute!

Hi everyone.

As I have said before on here, I lost my dog H, close to 3 years ago now. I still have Molly, but retired her from agility a couple of weeks ago, due to health issues. This is after we had our 2018 finals, which we held on Good Friday. Claire still runs Kooky.

I run a facebook group called Dogs Agility Rescue League. Which is basically a league for agility dogs who are rescued. We have our own finals, which a lot of the handlers look upon as our equivalent to Crufts.

On Tuesday, I saw a little pup who was put up for rescue. Story goes, that his mom was having a litter literally yearly. The mums owner was a farmer, didn't want the puppies, so he drowned them all!.

A neighbour of the farmer saw their mom tied up to a shed a couple of months ago, so she went home, got a collar and lead, and started to take the collie home with her. When out trotted 6 border collie pups. The neighbour saw the farmer, and told him, that shes had pups again, and he said right i'll deal with it. And goes inside the farmhouse to get a bin bag!!.

Neighbour sees what hes about to do, and says to the farmer, I can get these puppies new homes, and the mum to, but only if you agree to sign her over to me.

He apparently said, well shes naff all use to me, shes a failed sheep dog, so do what you want with her..

So mum and pups go into rescue. Mom is spayed (thankfully), and pups put up for adoption.

This little lad is the last of the litter.

We had to jump through bloody hoops to get him. Finally yesterday after a good 500 mile round trip, he has found his forever home.

Meet Monty. KC name will be Monty Burns of Kasabian. He is just shy of 12 weeks old, and has really settled in well with us. Right this minute he is fast asleep on my feet down the workshop.

He will be my next agility dog. Kooky puts up with him (just), whilst Molly is like, what the heck is he doing here!!. When's he going back!!. lol

There doesnt appear to be any scaly or feathery creatures on this thread.
I've got 1 x African Grey Parrot, 2 x Leopard Gecko, 1 x Bearded Dragon, 1 x Corn Snake, 1 x Ackie Monitor and 1 x Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Dog). Beofre we had the Ackie Monitor we had a Chinese Water Dragon and before the African Grey we had a Rose Crown Conure.IMG-20180911-WA0000.jpg IMG-20180922-WA0000.jpg IMG-20180929-WA0001.jpg IMG_20190414_103611-2.jpg IMG_20180916_192050-2.jpg

Great collection you have there @alexsmith2709. When I was first married, we had a Sun Conure.

Used to have cockatiels, and my parents had a parakeet. Also couple of budgies, and a cat. But now I'm into my dogs as you can tell lol.

My partner had the leopard geckos and conure before i met her, she is the reason i am so into reptiles now. If money and space ever allow i want to get a bigger species of monitor. I do love dogs, we've been having conversations recently about getting another dog.
My parrot loves copying everything i say, but bites and lunges at me when shes out. We have wild rose-ringed (i think) parakeets in this part of the country and get quite a few in ours and neighbouring gardens.

We used to have a guy over the road from us, who had a cockatoo. He walked everywhere (pished as the proverbial f@rt). With the cockatoo on his shoulder.

As for getting another dog. Get a rescue lol. You can't beat em :-D

Yep, will always get a rescue. Our current one was sort of a rescue, got him from an old friend who started working long hours and couldnt look after him anymore. He was only 18 months at the time, he'll be 9 in July. Our parrot, corn snake and leopard geckos also came from people not being able to look after them anymore.

All 3 (well including h), are rescues.

Harry we got at 10 months old. He passed 3 years ago in June. Aged 15.
Molly was 12 weeks old. She is now 9.
Kooky was 5 months old, and we are her 5th owners. She's now 6.
Monty is around 12 weeks old now.
